Atami Ryokan Interior Renovation

Sankyu Kensetsu Co., Ltd. carried out the interior renovation of a traditional ryokan located in Atami City. The goal of this project was to blend modern comfort with the elegance of traditional Japanese aesthetics, enhancing the timeless charm of the ryokan while meeting contemporary expectations.

Natural materials were incorporated throughout the design, with calm color palettes and refined detailing. The guest rooms feature large windows that frame the surrounding natural scenery, along with interiors that reinterpret traditional Japanese architectural elements in a modern way—creating a serene and welcoming atmosphere for every visitor.

In the public areas, handcrafted decorative pieces by local artisans were introduced to honor the region’s cultural heritage and the ryokan’s long-standing history.

Through this renovation, the ryokan has been revitalized with a fresh identity while offering upgraded comfort and amenities that appeal to today’s travelers. This project once again highlights Sankyu Kensetsu’s ability to create spaces where tradition and innovation coexist harmoniously.
