Integrating Academia and Practice
Tianqi Ge is from Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Fuzhou University and her Master’s degree in Heritage Conservation from South China University of Technology. She then received the MEXT Scholarship from the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and completed her Ph.D. in Urban Planning at Kanazawa University, obtaining her Doctor of Engineering degree in 2024.
During her doctoral studies, she focused on innovative design methodologies for urban spaces and architectural forms, exploring a wide range of research themes. These included new bookstore space design in China, smart utilization of underground spaces, morphological policies and thermal environment simulations for high-performance insulated housing, and AI-driven methods for generating residential building forms.
She has published three papers (including accepted papers) in international academic journals and presented at two international conferences, steadily building her academic achievements. In addition, she has participated in more than ten architectural design and urban planning projects across both China and Japan, gaining practical expertise grounded in research.
By combining academic insights with extensive hands-on experience, she aims to create designs that envision the future of cities and architecture.
