Shiro Shonan is originally from Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China.
After completing his master’s degree in architecture at the University of Tokyo, he accumulated many years of design experience at Japanese architectural firms.
Since 2023, he has been working as a design advisor at Sankyu Kensetsu Co., Ltd. while simultaneously pursuing a Ph.D. in architecture at the University of Tokyo, specializing in architectural theory and architectural history.

With nearly ten years of practical experience in Japan’s architectural design field, he has led a wide range of projects—from private residences to mid-scale commercial facilities.
He excels in deeply exploring structure and place, and has a unique ability to incorporate urban context, streetscape characteristics, and the social background of different historical periods into his design work.

His architectural designs have been featured multiple times in renowned publications such as Casa BRUTUS and Shinkenchiku.
These achievements form a strong foundation for his continuous pursuit of architectural innovation and excellence, contributing to the creation of future architectural classics.
He strives to maximize spatial potential even within limited budgets, ensuring each project expresses its distinctive value.

In his design process, he places great importance on harmony with the surrounding environment, ensuring that architecture integrates seamlessly with its context.
His goal is to create practical, comfortable, and high-quality spaces, with meticulous attention to detail in projects ranging from residential to commercial architecture.
